Sludge Belt Dryer from Siemens Water Technologies
In the Sludge Belt Dryer, evaporation takes place when the biosolids come in contact with the heated air. The sludge is uniformly distributed on the entire belt width to cause uniform evaporation. Evaporative capacities are 1,000 to 13,000 pounds (454 to 5,897 kg) of water evaporated per hour, and the system is designed to operate continuously if required. The mechanically dewatered feed material can be handled within a wide range of moisture contents, which in most cases exceed the range of other dryer types. With a heat requirement of approximately 1,441 BTU/lb (less than 800 kcal/kg) of evaporated water, the dryer allows for great heating flexibility. The ability to vary residence times in the drying zone provides a way to fine tune the product moisture to meet final use or disposal requirements. The dryer can also be fitted with a product cooling zone when needed.
The Sludge Belt Dryer will be featured at WEFTEC.08 in Booth # 28077, Hall B.
